You essentially just send a command to the webclient, with the argument being the image being the URL to the image you want to show. The code is still in flux, but here's an example. Note that the template I used was meant for GitHub wikis, so that API.md document doesn't do interdocument linking well, but the intradocument links work ok.

I didn't find your project until I was searching for alternatives to Napoleon for Google-style docstring parsing. Even after finding this blog post, I didn't realize that api2md was in your wiki repository until I dug a little deeper. May I echo Ronan's request that you put your api2md on GitHub as a separate repository, and give it a license? It would make it much more findable.

Cheers!goodmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13892843458464081326noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8338260444057832583.post-72289874954948830412016-03-24T22:59:54.485+01:002016-03-24T22:59:54.485+01:00Neat stuff, Griatch! Yes ... this is what the article is about...@Pascal

Yes ... this is what the article is about.

We use the twisted event loop to run the game logic itself, it would make no sense if it could not access the database (i.e. the django ORM) in the same process. We also run the webserver in the same process as the game server which means they both have access to the same database without needing to worry about caching or race conditions - this allows for easy integration of your game with its web presence.

You could run the web presence under some other stand-alone webserver if you wanted, by all means - there is just no real reason to do so for most use cases.

You are correct that Django database acccess is blocking of course. This is also discussed in the article.
.
GriatchGriatchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01430093554910807910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8338260444057832583.post-13352317029088247822015-10-10T18:05:40.098+02:002015-10-10T18:05:40.098+02:00Thankyou, those are most appreciated and encouragi...Thankyou, those are most appreciated and encouraging words. Although you won't necessarily generate a ton of comments, this kind of thing is very interesting, insightful, and usable for the long-term.

I've never posted before in any of the countless google group posts/blog/art/imaginative realities articles you've written and drawn, so as a lurker and Evennia hobbyist-tinkerer for several years now, I just wanted to send a big thank you.

I hope you realize, being the extremely humble guy you are, that your diligence and patience is well appreciated and a huge inspiration.
